In the Sacrament of Holy Orders, or Ordination, the priest being ordained vows to lead other Catholics by bringing them the Sacraments (especially the Holy Eucharist), by proclaiming the Gospel, and by providing other means to holiness. Holy Orders is the Sacrament of Apostolic Ministry which includes Bishops, Priests and Deacons.

Come to him, to that living stone, rejected by men but in God's sight chosen and precious; and like living stones be yourselves built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

(1 Peter 2:4-5)

Holy Orders at Holy Family Parish
The Parish is where most people, especially young people, experience the Church, including worship, education, community, and service. Vocations can thrive where there is active and full participation in these dimensions of Church life. In particular, through Holy Family's Religious Ed program, information is disseminated as to what a vocation is (a calling from God), what types of vocations there are (marriage, priesthood, deaconate, consecrated life, and single life), and how one makes a good decision (the process of discernment) about the choice.

Beyond the general awareness of vocations through Religious Ed, parents and parishioners are called to pray for, encourage and nurture vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life.

For more information, please visit the website: Archdiocese of Boston Vocations in General. One is also always welcome to discuss such with the Parish priests or any members of staff.
