for the  Greater Glory of God

Stewarding the gift of our Talent

A "talent" is not necessarily something at which we are very skilled. Being a good steward of our talents means using whatever God has given us to the best of our ability to build up His kingdom. When we name our talents we are not bragging, because we know that each trait is a gift from God.

We need not feel that we don't have enough talents to make a difference. God will make whatever he gave us "enough" to fulfill His plan, if we generously share the gifts we do have with others.

God made each of us in His own image and likeness, and yet unique in all the world! We each have a special combination of aptitudes and abilities, interests and passions, skills and experiences that make us who we are, and equip us to do what God needs us to do. Whether one is a good maintenance person, a computer programmer, a good cook, a concert pianist, a warm hugger or a motivational speaker - God gave us each a valuable talent to be cultivated and shared.

Service to humanity, the best work of life

It has been said by many that, "Service to humanity is the best work of life." Opportunities abound in our day-to-day lives to use our talents to serve others. Taking care of our families, helping our friends and neighbors, contributing to society through our work and civic activities, and participating in Parish life in service to others, all helps us steward our God-given talents for His greater Glory.

Make a difference; share your talent; serve. Please look into the many opportunities to serve listed within the Time section  under Stewardship. Not sure where you fit in? One of  the Holy Family Pastoral or Parish staff members will be happy to assist. Whatever your talent, please get involved in Parish life. You and God will be glad you did!
