A Parish for young people

Blessed John Paul II speaking on youth and the Church once said, ...what is needed (is): a Church for young people, which will know how to speak to their heart and enkindle, comfort, and inspire enthusiasm in it with the joy of the Gospel and the strength of the Eucharist; a Church which will know how to invite and welcome the person who seeks a purpose for which to commit his whole existence; a Church which is not afraid to require much, after having given much; which does not fear asking from young people the effort of a noble and authentic adventure, such as that of the following of the Gospel. Holy Family Parish is committed to the reality of which the former Pope speaks and truly recognizes that young people are an important and integral part of the Parish community.

HFP Youth Group

The aim of the HFP Youth Group is to affirm the gifts of Parish youth and foster various opportunities for young people of the sixth, seventh and eighth grade ages to share their gifts amongst themselves, with the Parish and with the Amesbury community. Both spiritual and social needs of the youth are met through committed creative programing and the strong leadership, guidance, and support of Holy Family Parish adults and pastoral staff. Monthly gatherings, youth-specific outings, service projects and just plain fun seek to draw young people into responsible participation in Parish life, always growing and going toward Jesus Christ.

(Youth) It is not only a period of life that corresponds to a certain number of years; it is also a time given by Providence to every person and given as a responsibility. During that time, he searches, like the young man in the Gospel, for the answers; he searches not only for the meaning of life, but also for a concrete way to go about living his life.
(Blessed Pope John Paul II)
