Rev. Jason M. Makos

Permanent Deacon

Deacon Raymond Doucette

Deacon Ray Doucette was born in Fall River, MA where he attended grammar school in his home parish of Sts. Peter & Paul. He graduated from S.M.U. (now UMass Dartmouth) with a B.S. degree in Textile Technology and a minor in Business Administration. Deacon Ray and his wife Paulette moved to Amesbury, MA in 1969 and became active members of Sacred Heart Parish. Ray was involved in the renovation of the church, the process of collaboration, and the 1998 merger of Sacred Heart and St. Joseph parishes. Ray and Paulette have two daughters, Jane and Julie. After raising his family, Ray began his diaconate journey.

Deacon Ray was ordained to the Diaconate in 2004 by Archbishop Sean O’Malley and has been assigned to Holy Family Parish since then. His responsibilities include recruiting and training Lectors and Extraordinary Ministers, providing Baptism Preparation classes, coordinating events such as Ministry Fairs, and attending wakes and internments as available. He serves as a Deacon twice monthly at weekend Masses and preaches once per month.
